The 75 policies an Indian company is expected to have

Employment, leave, recruitment, payroll, conduct, IT security, welfare, operations, exit and statutory compliance — organised into 12 categories, with a recommended order to build them in.

  • 75 policies across 12 categories
  • A three-phase rollout order, so you know what to write first
  • The 15 sections a finished policy document should contain
  • Which 44 of them a system can actually operate for you

This is a starting framework, not legal advice. Each policy still has to become a company-specific document once you have settled headcount, states, industry and working model — and some apply only above particular legal thresholds.

Where to start

You do not write all of them at once

The most useful thing in the handbook is the order. A company with no policy library needs a first ten, not a list of seventy-five.

  1. Phase 1

    Foundation

Appointment, code of conduct, leave and attendance, POSH, information security, confidentiality, payroll, grievance, disciplinary and exit.

  2. Phase 2

    Growth

Recruitment, onboarding, PMS, compensation, travel and expense, referral, learning and development, remote work and employee benefits.

  3. Phase 3

    Scale

Delegation of authority, procurement, vendor management, succession planning, data governance and advanced security.

What a finished policy document contains

The handbook is a list of titles. Each one becomes a real document only when it carries all fifteen of these.

  • Purpose
  • Scope
  • Definitions
  • Policy rules
  • Eligibility
  • Roles & responsibilities
  • Approval process
  • Exceptions
  • Records & documentation
  • Confidentiality
  • Non-compliance
  • Effective date
  • Version
  • Policy owner
  • Review date

See EZER on your own data

The policies are yours. The operating them is ours.

44 of these stop being documents and become a running process the day EZER goes live — leave balances, attendance, payroll, statutory filings, full & final and the compliance calendar.

  • Thirty minutes in the live product. Not a slide deck, and not a recorded video.
  • We ask first: how many entities, which states, how many employees, what you run payroll on today.
  • Then we show your case — your salary structure, your statutory setup, your locations.

No obligation, no credit card, and we won't add you to a mailing list without asking.
